The definition of Minx is an impudent, cunning or boldly flirtatious girl or young woman. This is what I see when I look at this hand-built clay sculpture. “Minx” is one of my newest sculptures and I have decided to no longer sketch or plan out the finished product. Instead I let my subconscious guide my way and allow the lines, curves, and twists come to life in my hands. I really enjoy creating a feeling of the abstract sculpture dancing. The low fire glaze that was used is also new to me. It has an appearance of metal or a dark stone, perhaps even concrete. I really like the contrast against a light background to really bring out the lines and shape of the silhouette.
