The inspiration behind this piece was a combination of three things. One, is a memory of flat tires in my grandad’s garage being kept to be repaired. Secondly, the frustration of needing to use a dolly only to see that the tire is flat and thinking… “just my luck”. The third, is the artistic challenge of taking a solid stone and creating the appearance of softness. I hope others will see all three while viewing.
