Johnson’s mural above FOOD for Lane County’s Dining Room door is another 20×21 mural that is a direct commentary on global warming. The burning in the piece symbolizes different fires that are going on — from the burning of fossil fuels to the burning of the Arctic. In the foreground people tend to an oak tree, a symbol Johnson says recalls the Willamette Valley’s past as a home for native tribes.
