Bevan Honey has always been interested in exploring the urban and suburban landscape, often with a wry sense of humour. The artist takes many familiar Australian icons- such as the thong- and reworks them with humour and insight.
‘Untitled (Adam)’ stretches the definition of drawing through its linear use of form used within a sculptural sense. His art practice spans the two dimensional and three dimensional, with drawings, sculpture and installations amongst his oeuvre. Bevan Honey’s work is often characterized by the use of wood, line-work, tonal palette and flat, ‘industrial’ colour.
‘Untitled (Adam)’ was the winner of the Joondalup Resort Award for Excellence in the 2001 Joondalup Invitation Art Award.
