The Lotus flower, according to Hindu religious scriptures, has been a symbol of purity and detachment from worldly desires. Ivan Bray’s ‘Lotus Blooming’ is a work rich in symbolism designed to engage the viewer in an exploration of its narrative potential.

Of his arts practice, Bray states: “For me art is a vehicle for maturity, a spiritual affirmation. Art is the sublimation of the soul; directive to historical transcendence. It is the pre-civilized language of our intuition, the primordial subjective, our civilization's nemesis, the political chaos structure for the Golden Age."
