Imp. Maurice Panneels, Bruxelles. This Belgian version of the poster for MGM’s 1955 release, The Prodigal, takes six words from the gospel parable about the prodigal son, “squandered his wealth in wild living” (Luke 15:13) and enlarges them into epically violent and sensual proportions. Superstar model and actress Lana Turner is the centerpiece of the poster, promising a sensuality on which the film only partially delivers. Note the poster’s references to technical features CinemaScope and Perspecta Stereophonic Sound.
