Folio from the Bible of Kralice (1579–1593), the first complete Czech translation of the Bible from the original languages by the Czech Brethren, became the model for the literary form of the language. The front page is an introductory page to the book of Genesis. At the very top “k laskawému Cztenáři” – “to the kind reader”. The two lines below read “The first book of Moses which is called by the word Genesis”. There follows a discussion of the role of Genesis in the Pentateuch, then a discussion about Moses.
The obverse page contains six roundels with illustrations from the days of creation.
