A blaze of autumn color along the granite shoreline of Algonquin Park — the reflections here almost glows, echoed perfectly in the still water below, with a dark line of evergreens holding steady against the fall palette. About This Collection

Chris James Cooper brought a rare combination to his landscape paintings — training as an ecologist and an architect, paired with a lifelong love of paint and light. His work was shown in several Ontario galleries during his lifetime, and reflects decades spent observing the natural world closely, both scientifically and artistically.
