This abstract piece originated from a remnant cut from my paint palette — a fragment that became the departure point for an intuitive creative process. I’m hard-wired not to waste materials, so this method allows me to repurpose my pre-mixed paints in a meaningful way.
In this work, I poured sequential layers of paint, each one building definition and elevation. Although the texture softens as the acrylic dries, the surface still holds subtle depth. To create the final textures, I sprayed the dried layers with thinned white paint, then pressed a sheet of plastic over the surface and let it dry. When peeled away, it revealed unexpected, organic patterns — the kind of surprise that only comes through experimentation.
The piece is paired with a natural wood frame, finished with a high-sheen varnish, and ready to hang.
