Painterly Iris, painted from an iris gifted to me by my Uncle John. This piece was created alongside Textured Iris to compare painting styles—one realistic and one painted with a palette knife. In Painterly Iris, I stayed close to my usual realistic approach, focusing on color and detail. The project also connects to the old tradition of friends and family trading plant cuttings and seedlings with one another. Painted with professional artist-quality acrylics, the piece is varnished for protection and comes ready to frame or display.
