This print describes my exposure to abandoned and abused children in West Virginia during the 90's I was a working artist and also an art therapist working with children in state placements. Observing the children's lives and the lives of my own three daughters, I was struck by the extreme disparities in their lives. The words surrounding the edges of the print describe this disparity. The children are floating in water crying for help, the houses are on fire. The little child standing in front of the volcano was taken from a drawing I did as a child when I was very angry.
