A Plein Air Austin paint out at Barton Springs Pool in Austin. The delayed removal of “Flo” has come and so we bid farewell with one last painting of the iconic pecan tree “Flo”. She withstood droughts and floods, freezing temperatures, and even one last thunderstorm before being removed today. Last month Tricia @patriciabutlerart and I painted the tree at sunset when we thought it was about to come down, but that event was delayed by city officials until now. This is just one of the reasons that plein air painting is so rewarding, in that we get to observe and appreciate mother nature in all it’s beauty while we can and try to document it before we no longer have the opportunity to do so. Fare thee well, Flo.
