Between 1962 to 1965, Kwane Brathwaithe photographed "Black is Beautiful Movement". One of his subjects was Priscilla Bardonille at a photoshoot at AJASS studios 1962. This movement began in an effort to counteract the racist notion in American culture that features typical of Black people were less attractive or desirable than those of White people. I loved her expression.
