Welcome to the entrance of Lacanda Del Molino, a small restaurant where my husband and I dined our second evening in Italy. As we crossed the threshold I was not sure where we were headed, as it did not appear to be a restaurant at all. Imagine our delight when we ended up on a back terrace, nestled high amongst the trees and overlooking Esse Creek. The setting was lovely, quaint and quiet - just what we needed after traveling almost 24 hours to reach Cortona. We thoroughly enjoyed the cool September evening and the serene ambience that embraced us!
This is the second painting in my Tuscany series and depicts a building likely more than 500 years old. I was fascinated by the architecture, the slate walkways worn with age, the building's weathered stone exterior and the heavy wooden doors at the entrance. We saw similar scenes everywhere we traveled in Tuscany!
