Until the pandemic, every year on the second Sunday in October, 45 or so of our family would gather at Aunt Janet and Uncle Pop's farm for a Family Reunion. This barn was the back drop for many a family photo, while the grassy hill to the right entertained the little ones (and some not so little!) with games of chase and soccer for a few hours of family fun. We all have special memories of sharing a meal, reconnecting with family and laughing A LOT.
Aunt Janet turned 97 (!) in February this year and we are already planning our reunion for the fall of 2023. While we have moved to the local community center to make it easier to orchestrate, there is no denying our favorite spot will always be beside this barn.
It was particularly meaningful to paint this barn scene and reminisce about all of those family gatherings over the years.
