Painting the traditional west alive today North of the boarder.
MessageGive a Boy a Rope reflects the importance of introducing young people to the traditions, skills, and responsibilities that shape ranching life. As a young cowboy practices building a loop in the branding trap, he takes part in a learning process that extends far beyond horsemanship or roping alone.
The painting speaks to the value of mentorship and the confidence that grows through experience. Inspired by a young cowboy from Saskatchewan and Ryan Fritz’s song of the same title, this piece celebrates the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next and the role those lessons play in preserving a ranching way of life.
