Rudna, Poland is a copper mining town. The town is pretty on the surface, but it's had many mining accidents, often tied to seismic events produced by the mining work itself. I live in AZ and copper mining is one of our industries as well. A new mine has been approved after many years of effort. I know we need copper and we enjoy the metal in both essential and aesthetic ways, but it has its costs. I created this mosaic on a beautiful copper tray that I found at the scrap yard. I used many pieces of copper bling to create the feel of a landscape that's built on a faulty foundation.
