Portrait of Albert Henry Rathbun (1842-1914). He enlisted August 22, 1862 and belonged to the 50th New York Engineers, Company C. Rathbun served as an orderly for Ulysses S. Grant. He mustered out June 13, 1865. After the war, Rathbun married Fanny Slade Popham in Skaneatles, New York in 1865. He remarried in 1881, to Lottie Weber of Buffalo, New York. Rathbun was a railroad worker and served as contractor for the Rock Island Railroad.
