Portrait of Edward Rathbun (1839-1873), a flour merchant who worked near Springfield, Massachusetts. Rathbun was born in Verona, New York. He died of typhoid fever. Edward was the nephew of Mary Rathbun Barr and Dorcas Rathbun Searing Thomas.
