Ai Sogawa Campbell (b. 1978, Osaka, Japan) is a painter and installation artist based in New Jersey. Her abstract works explore nature, memory, and the psychological spaces shaped by loss and renewal. Trained in oil painting at Kyoto College of Art and Design, she moved to the United States in 2005 and developed a process rooted in water-based media, chance, and intricate hand-drawn detail.
Her recent work reflects on personal grief and cultural memory, incorporating photography, collage, and three-dimensional elements to connect past and present. Campbell has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Bridgette Mayer Gallery (Philadelphia), Satchel Projects (New York), and the Women in Art Fair (London). Her work is held in corporate and private collections worldwide, and she has created large-scale murals and installations for hotels and affordable housing developments.
