Plate, 7 inches diameter. Brown transfer with polychrome clobbering. Unknown maker. The Rd. No. indicates a pattern registration date of 1886. This pattern features three motifs placed along a straight line in the center of the plate. The largest motif consists of a flying songbird inside a circular cartouche laid over a spray of chrysanthemums and other flowers. Next to this motif is a small wildflower plant and then a motif of a songbird standing on the ground amongst wildflowers and leaves, looking towards a flying butterfly. The thin border consists of a repeated geometric shape.
