The "Regent" pattern features classical elements like urns, lyres, winged sphynxes, and leaf swags, in tightly drawn repeating patterns laid out in concentric circles around a central rosette. These elements are repeated in alternating panels in the border.

In 1878 James Gildea joined the partnership of Bates & Walker. In 1881 Bates left the partnership and Gildea & Walker continued together. In 1885 James Gildea continued the business alone.
