Gallery Maple is a new queer-centric commercial fine art gallery in Seattle, opening later this year. Our mission is to elevate LGBTQ+ artists by connecting their work with discerning collectors of queer artwork.

Though we believe Gallery Maple can do good by expanding queer representation in the arts, we are not a co-operative, collective nor non-profit organization, but is instead owned and operated as a private commercial gallery that aims to sell and support work that is either connected to the queer community, or created by queer artists.

Once complete, Gallery Maple will operate as an online-only gallery with most of our exhibitions and offerings being exhibited on our website, though we have private viewing rooms available by appointment for clients wishing to see the work in person. In a post-covid world we will likely begin exploring growing into a brick-and-mortar gallery.

There are no size or medium restrictions for submissions, we ask only that your artwork be intended to sell in a commercial environment (e.g. video installations would likely not be an ideal fit at this stage of Maple). Though we are not restricting submissions to local artists only, we must remind applicants that all artists are responsible to delivery of their work to Maple, as well as the expenses of returning it in the event it does not sell.If you are a professionally-minded artist that identifies as queer, or if your work has a connection to the community in some way, we encourage you to submit your work for consideration using the instructions in the link below.

If selected, artists will receive:
-annual exhibition opportunities, including all of the promotion entailed.
-year-round promotion of both old and new work regardless of if you are currently “on exhibit”.
-50% commission on all work sold through Maple.
-the chance to grow a collector base in a wildly undersaturated queer art market
-the opportunity to work with a friendly, experienced gallerist that is willing to work with artists on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the business, such as pricing, framing, exhibition preparation, studio critiques and more.

To reiterate: this is not a call for a one-time show. It is a call for bold, professional artists that are interested in seeking long-term representation with a commercial fine art gallery.
