California native, Andrea Yomtob explores poetry, mythology, and human emotion in her paintings. She draws her inspiration from Symbolist painters such as Gustav Klimt, Magical Realist Painters, and the magnificent forms produced by nature.
Latin American art has also been a strong influence in Yomtob’s work since she began painting with Omar d’Leon, an internationally renowned artist from Nicaragua, since the early 90s. Over the years, she has incorporated his unique wax and oil technique into her paintings on canvas and exhibits with him regularly in California.
A graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Yomtob earned her BFA in Art cum laude in 2004. In addition to her exhibitions as a Fine Artist, she illustrates for children’s film and television at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Los Angeles and is a published children’s book illustrator.
Her Fine Art work can be found in the permanent collections of Carnegie Museum of Art and the Ventura County Museum Of Art. She has exhibited in Los Angeles, Monterey, Carmel, San Francisco, and other galleries in California.
