How Deep Is Your Love is part of the series, The Architecture of Becoming, created during my August 2026 residency at the Torrance Art Museum. Fabric extends beyond the lower edge of the painting, creating moments that move into the space below the surface.
Named after the Bee Gees song that accompanied me during this period of experimentation, the title carries a personal connection to love and loss. The painting introduces a landscape element and incorporates familial and locally sourced materials, including waxed thread, sewing patterns, pieces of a silk kimono sleeve, interior-design fabric, wallpaper, and oil sticks.
