“Escape” is a 72 x 72 inch quadriptych formed from four earlier paintings, each carrying its own history before being brought together into a single field.
The work references the sensation of submersion—of being underwater, where sound collapses and perception becomes diffused. In that suspended state, experience is not resolved or escaped, but held in a quiet compression. Memory, breath, and awareness shift into a different register, where presence is felt without demand for interpretation or outcome.
