Just a charming small watercolour from Anthony Osler, a well known East Anglian artist. I have spent many happy hours in and around the Norfolk Broads and the East Coast in my early years, and this brings back memories of impending storms and having to get the gib down and the mainsail lowered!

Anthony Osler, born in Ipswich in 1938, is a distinguished British marine artist celebrated for his atmospheric watercolours and oil paintings depicting maritime scenes. His passion for boats and the East Coast of England profoundly influences his work, capturing the region's unique and ever-changing ambiance.
Osler's artistic journey began at the age of 29 after discovering Rowland Hilder's book "Starting with Watercolour." Initially pursuing a career in agriculture, he transitioned to full-time painting at 55. His dedication has led to widespread exhibitions across Great Britain, France, and the USA, including a solo show in Paris. In early 2018, he was featured at the Francis Iles Gallery in Rochester, Kent, and is represented in London by the Alexander Miles Gallery.
Active in the art community, Osler is a member of The Society of East Anglian Watercolourists, a former President and Honorary Member of the Felixstowe Art Group, and an Honorary Member of The East Anglian Group of Marine Artists. He offers demonstrations and workshops in oil and watercolour painting near his home on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, close to Diss.
