A charming naïve-style coastal composition depicting a sweeping seafront promenade lined with brightly coloured terraced houses overlooking the sea. Bought at Bonham's over 20 years ago I adore this pretty oil of an English seaside front complete with bandstand. The picture (painted on board) had a hole in it when I bought it and it somehow adds to the shabby chic look of the frame. The style is loosely Lowryesq would you agree? if you sit in the chair here in room 16 you look at 3 things: The TV, the view from the window and this adorable picture, maybe all at the same time!
