Painted in Hoboken, New Jersey, I started out making a colorful grid like I'd seen in so many places, thinking it would be popular. But I began thinking about coal-burning pollution along the Great Lakes, and wanted to include renewable symbols as a solution to the problem. This painting was part of a group show in Brooklyn, NY in 2016.
