I value sustainable living and art practices. In the fall of 2021, I was introduced into the financial industry through insurance training and found myself considering how investments and the environment could benefit each other. My oldest son approached me several times about supporting nuclear power, but I insisted that nuclear should always be opposed because of its threat to humans. However, the urgency of the problem of warming, threatening our food supply and the entire ocean's ecosystem, now has my family seeing socially responsible Nuclear Power as an effective and large-scale solution for reducing warming by Methane and CO2, at least in the short term while we all figure out a better large scale solution for non-earth and ocean-warming energy. It's still a costly solution and requires extreme maintenance for the toxic waste - yet governments could do this.
