This painting was inspired by the song “Ship to Wreck” by Florence + Machine. In the part where she says she can’t help but wrap the earth around her, I pictured American children doing just that. I had done a project with my son illustrating the Earth, and found it simple and profound. Two young children from a population most affected by climate change on Earth show us that we must listen and learn about science and truth.
