One thousand lines are laid down with the recitation of one thousand mantras.
Meditative, repetitive, methodically layering lines of colour to create a luminous space. A certain state of mind, an attitude of directness uncovers the cosmic elegance that exists in our lives and our art. Meditation-in-action practice changes the way I relate to the world: my sensory system is altered. Sense perception as a straightforward Buddhist approach, not purely as aesthetics but simply as natural phenomena.
Vipashyana is an awareness practice that tunes into the phenomenal world both inwardly and outwardly. Thru this practice abilities and all potentials are open. When creating with this awareness, simply putting down the lines, all energies come forward. Art making is in the transcendental space.
Trying to approach reality and art making as simply as I can may seem ordinary, but actually it is extremely deep. In this way there is always some kind of ‘message” taking place, some absolute symbolism, and by that, I mean that which needs no reference point. Out of that ‘black hole” of egolessness and non-thought, a colour occurs, a landscape emerges, a vibration is felt and a brilliance comes forward with its own sharp existence.
