SKYE LAROCCA – ARTIST BIO
Skye LaRocca is a Sydney based multidisciplinary artist exploring how we perceive nature and the emotion of human existence through the lens of life in the digital age. Our physical and social landscape continues to take monumental shifts as technologies rapidly advance. The complexities of ego, consumption of knowledge, and understanding of the world around us are in constant flux. She implements a harmony of colours to paint abstract investigations of our human interactions with the unnatural physical and digital environments we now call home.
SUMMARY OF WORKS
“Dive into the depths of existentialism through the language of colour”
While many artists may shy away from tackling existential themes, LaRocca embraces the challenge, using their art as a medium for exploration and healing. The ambiguity of existence, the fleeting nature of time, the inherent isolation of the self—all these philosophical quandaries find solace in the artist's vibrant and enigmatic creations.
Through their art, Skye LaRocca invites us to ponder the complexities of existence, encouraging us to find beauty in uncertainty, excitement in the midst of chaos, and meaning within the vast expanse of the fragility of the human experience. In a world where questions often outweigh answers, LaRocca reminds us that sometimes, the most profound revelations can be found within the kaleidoscope of colours that envelope our lives.
“TO PERCEIVE A THING IS, IN FACT, TO PUT IT IN ITS PLACE AMONG OTHER THINGS.”
