Thrash’s landscapes are less famous than his prints and depictions of urban scenes but no less remarkable. In his autobiography, Thrash defines the eras of his life largely in terms of the locales where he lived. It is no surprise then, that over his career he produced many landscapes, both as prints and as paintings. Thrash valued his landscapes more than art critics and popular opinion did, and he asked that they be included in exhibitions that focused on his prints.
