Although his best-known landscape paintings were those referencing his upbringing in Georgia, the landscape paintings evoke scenes that might reflect the forests of Pennsylvania, meadows in the Northeast, or the coast of Connecticut. Thrash lived in and traveled to these places and many more during his life.
