I’m fascinated by the miraculous feat of bird migration. And while it has long been known that birds use the sun and stars as a compass, research also shows that the earth’s magnetic field may also play an important role. Slight changes in the intensity of the field can be detected by magnetoreceptors in the bird’s brain adding to their overall homing compass. The question arises, can human-caused electrosmog cause a disruption in the migratory patterns of these magnificent animals? Is this another way we are altering our environment to the detriment of other creatures that live here with us?I
