This diptych is a full surrender to letting the piece dictate where it wanted to go. The background - which was on paper that caught the overflow from an acrylic pour - suggested the dragonfly, which seemed to have it’s own opinion about how it wanted to come to life. I learned that “the dragonfly symbolizes wisdom, change, transformation, light and adaptability in life. It shows up in people's lives to remind them that they need to bring a lightness and joy to their life."
Which feels reflective of where I was at in my recovery and life at the time.
