Theodore, Qld
Tracey is a visual artist, teacher and coach with a special interest in the healing and therapeutic benefits of creativity.
MessageTracey Hewitt is an artist, coach and author who has spent her life making things.
As well as her role as office manager for her family's Central Queensland farming business; Tracey creates art, offers one on one coaching, and teaches art journaling classes. She has a special interest in the healing and therapeutic benefits of creativity.
Her creative endeavours include exhibitions in regional centres, teaching—either in hands on workshops, or on her website; designing for community arts projects, writing, and collaborating with other artists.
Tracey was born in Brisbane, then went straight ‘home’ to Quilpie where her Mum endured 2 years of dust, flies and heat before she told her Dad “No more.” He quite agreed, so it was back to Brisbane for her formative years, high school, and college. But the wide open spaces (and dust, flies and heat) must have seeped into her soul; and given that the love of her life owned a cattle property he wasn’t leaving, Tracey – gleefully abandoning an art teaching degree to marry her salt of the earth farmer - made her home in Central Queensland.
She now lives just out of Theodore where she’s lived and loved since 1982. She has raised 3 lively sons while fine-tuning her skills in fine art, life coaching and writing. Ironically, the art teaching she was once anxious to flee from has become a source of delight and fulfillment.
She has a thing for funky cowgirl boots, yoga, travel, and soulful conversations; and her grandbabies think she sings the best “Incy Wincy Spider” the world has ever heard. Others might disagree.
