Twilight in the desert is especially beautiful, as the promise of dark skies scattered with stars slowly becomes reality.
The orientation of this piece is quite intentional - some viewers may sense a horizon line along the botanical form, and want to view it turned 90°. For me, that straight line reads like the straight road that crosses the desert, with the flora running alongside. It's about day giving way to night - a sequence, like turning the page of a book, which is a left/right thing, not an over/under thing.
