On a Friday afternoon, my favourite place to sit is on the patio overlooking the bush at the front of our house. Front and centre in the yard is a huge scribbly gum tree that seems to be home to the local birdlife – and more often then not, the pink galahs come for a visit.
As an avid photographer, I have taken many photos of the visiting galahs and Posie is inspired by one of these photos. She was actually one of four galahs that came to stay on that particular Friday afternoon... they spent hours taking turns to clean out the cut stump on the tree to make a home.
Whilst I consider Posie to be a pink galah, she is actually full of lots of other colours too. There are several hues of aqua, golds, oranges, yellows, purples and of course, lots of different pinks. Please take the time to look at the close-up images - this will really show you how much detail and colour is in the artwork.
