We moved to the Redlands Coast six years ago and adore living in this little paradise corner of Queensland. One of the greatest features is we are a short ferry ride to the islands, in particular Minjerribah. Whilst I have never been lucky enough to view the whale migration from Point Lookout (Mulumba), I am friends with a lucky few who have.
Purely from my imagination, I have painted Maysie (Mumma) and Tilda (Bubba), the blue whales, as they cruise past the island on their annual winter migration. Instead of swimming through the sea, these two are powering through a floral forest and blowing candy floss coloured bubbles as they go.
Maysie and Tilda are full of colour! Lots of blues (of course 😂) aqua, red, golden yellow, salmon pink, Australian sienna, lilac and pink. The floral forest is an explosion of different greens with lashings of yellow, pink, orange, aqua and deep turquoise.
The candy floss bubbles are pink and more pink! With big dollops of gold, aqua and bright yellow. Please take the time to look at the close-up images - this will really show you how much detail and colour is in the artwork.
