Tina Alberni
Alberni is a semi-abstract, phygital artist. Layers of ideas, shapes, vibrant colors and symbolism coalesce in response to present day global imbalances.

This textile installation of multiple panels, serves as a commentary on human emotions and how we all relate.
The lack of space between fabrics is a nod to how crowded, stuck and tangled emotions can get. It's just part of our human experience.
The space between the panels is open, giving room to each set of emotions to unjumble and resolve.
Notably, I repurposed fabrics, many from fast fashion pieces and others with stories. The fashion industry is such a big polluter intoxicating many water resources which leave many communities around the globe devastated and forced to emigrate.
To gather insights for this work, many of you participated in a survey I conducted, posing a series of questions. Among these inquiries were those regarding the emotions evoked by different colors.
The resulting dominant answers from 97 participants revealed the following associations:
Blue: Calm
Yellow: Bright
Black: Darkness
Green: Nature
Red: Passion
Purple: Royalty
The purpose of this installation is to inspire individuals to look at one another and recognize our shared emotional experiences and allow space for them rather than fixate on how emotions sets us apart.
- Subject Matter: Abstract
