This painting dates back a few years from when the Gruppe Gallery was still doing it’s annual plein air event. The Barber Farm, just down the road, was one of my favorite places to paint, and I painted it twice during this event.
Much of my work has a serene feeling or element to it, and the Barber Farm fields embody that feeling of serenity unlike any other place. I wanted to keep the composition simple and without a lot of distraction, letting the atmosphere of the place be the actual subject.
