This terra cotta colored pot features a black design across the outside of the vessel and an inscribed signature on the bottom. Sourced from the Jemez in New Mexico, this vessel is more contemporary, as most Jemez pottery wasn't revived until the 1960s. The Jemez use traditional designs on their pottery such as plants, wildlife, and feathers. This particular pot is consistent with the coloring of the Jemez wares, those being red, black, and beige.
