MessageThis vessel is a decorative pot from the Jemez tribe in New Mexico. The Jemez ceased their pottery production in the late 1800s, and did not revive the practice until the influx of interest in Native American art in the 1960s. This pot is consistent with the types of wares created by the contemporary Jemez potters. It features natural designs in the typical red, beige, and black color pattern. While the specific artist in unknown, the bottom is signed with an inscription reading, "C.T. Jemez."
