Artist notes: Crouching down next to a shell bed between the reefs, there are rhythms from the sea that organize abstract shapes. In partnership, my eyes and brain masterfully distills these shapes into mussels and clam shells. Later at the easel, my brush is loaded with paint and dances across the surface to keep them in place - just a little longer, touching and resting, as they wait for the tide to come in.
