Artist notes: The tide at Izabella Point is so low that I could almost walk over to Georgeson Island. The fat mussels draped in seaweed break the horizon line. Some are dark blue while a few are bright orange, purple and red. The barnacles have no preference. Leaning into the movement of the sea I follow the breeze with my brush imagining shapes of smells and textures as I work. Figurative and abstract elements layer up on the canvas until I come to a full stop. This is what is left behind.
