My series "The Rescue" allegorically examines the concepts of grace and salvation as antidotes to weakness, anxiety, and hopelessness. These images reveal the "decisive moment" when someone or something disrupts an entrenched pattern of negativity with a new perspective – one of hope – that ultimately fosters renewed strength, personal fortitude, positivity and empowerment. I will continue to add new stories to this series as inspiration moves me.

"The Dawning" is a series of intentionally constructed "decisive moments" that reflect on that beautiful, painful, often startling and occasionally introspective moment when we recognize our own mortality.

I am often inspired by the written word – a poem, a lyric, a quote – and enjoy trying to create images that capture the ideas those words elicit. Sometimes the result is literal, often it is lateral. I see these images as illuminations – marginalia, perhaps – much like those images that adorned medieval manuscripts and religious texts. Look for clues to my inspiration in my titles since the images themselves are obvious allusions to the words they illustrate only rarely.
