I am often inspired by the written word – a poem, a lyric, a quote – and enjoy trying to create images that capture the ideas those words elicit. Sometimes the result is literal, often it is lateral. I see these images as illuminations – marginalia, perhaps – much like those images that adorned medieval manuscripts and religious texts.
