This piece was created over a few days when the weather was beautiful, sunny, bright & warm here in Dallas. I realized as I was working that the great weather had completely taken over & reflected in my work & so I love this piece. it brings so much joy, happiness, & positivity when I look at it. It's bright, it's stunning & it will bring joy & happiness in your home.
It's one of those very special pieces that as an artist, you don't really want to sell... but you need to... But while I'm waiting for it to find a new home & bring joy into someone else's life, I'll hang it in my living room to remind me of the bright & sunny day it was when I made it & the warm cozy feeling vibe it exudes.
I call it "Walkin on Sunshine" & to create this piece I used alcohol inks, birch wood panel, & mounted my yupo painting onto a wood panel, used ringlets from a wine bottle that I recycled & then sliced using a glass cutting device. I also embellished with a few yellow marbles for the center of the ringlets & some glass glitter in champagne. before coating it twice with the crystal clear art resin that gives that glossy glass look.
I sealed the alcohol ink background to protect from any fading over time first with 3 coats of glossy varnish, then 6 coats of UV archival protective spray. Once completely dry, I put the final touch on - two coats of the beautiful, glossy, glass-like finish of Art Resin.
It also has a UV protectant in it as well so this piece of art will preserve for many many many years to come. It's absolutely stunning.
